2029 blue - Rev22 fall event recaps
When: October 19, 2024
Where: Devens, MA
Event Summary
The girls’ lacrosse club season kicked off with New England’s top fall championship tournament, The New England Chill.
What a weekend to kick off REV22, the 22nd year of Revolution Lacrosse, at REVlax’s own event, The New England Chill. The weather was perfect, the sun was out, foliage was at peak, the DJ tent was bumping, and the dance offs were legit!
Traditionally, The New England Chill is REVlax’s 2nd tournament of the fall, but with the Westside Tournament canceling this year, this was opening weekend! Nine REVlax teams had winning records with three teams going undefeated and TWO teams winning the Championships!
Congratulations to the REV25 Team for winning the Championship and putting in a whooping 55 goals while only giving up nine goals on the day!
Congratulations also to the REV26 Black team for winning their Championship after battling a very strong Yellow Jackets team!
Though both undefeated, 27Black and 31Heart each missed the playoffs to the other undefeated team in their respective pools seeing they had one more allowed goal! What are the odds!?!
Something fun that the REVlax players loved was that after each game, a REVlaxer was awarded the Game Pumpkin for outstanding play by the team and coaching staff. And at the end of each day, the All-Tournament Pumpkin was awarded!
Team Summary
As our high school teams know, we have two objectives for the High School Program. The first being to prepare our players for their varsity tryouts as a freshman and then September 1st of their junior year, in that they are ready for their recruiting process to begin. This long-term development path gives both the REVlax Staff and players the opportunity to solely focus on development. As such, we spend the formative years of the high school program (8th grade to the start of freshman spring) working on such concepts of doing your job, seize your moments, run full speed and fight the quit, all the while, helping our players how to learn to play a run and gun style of offence and of course, the importance of stick development. Today, for both groups we kicked off this preparation at The New England CHILL. And it was awesome to be out there with the future leaders of the club!
2029 Blue: Record: 2-2
The CHILL was an awesome day for 29Blue! We are so excited for this team. As our veterans know, REVlax does not consider our Blue teams a second team and we are one of only a handful of clubs who expect our Blue team to beat other club’s 1st teams. In developing amazing Blue teams over the last two decades, what we know is that these players just need a bit more time to develop and to further their IQ. It is a process and a process that we are very good at winning. Like all of our teams, we do not roster our Blue teams lower so they win games and so our parents feel good about winning records, rather, we put our teams in very competitive brackets to give our players the opportunity to rise up and compete. As our veterans know, we are serious in this endeavor and nothing shows this more than having our full-time staff, including our Founder, Lukas, work directly with our Blue teams.
Shout outs/Game Pumpkin Winners
#11 Lahee Lee – Middie
Lahee has turned it on as middie. Today she was a team leader, winning draws, exploding with speed, hunting the ball, scoring and fighting for the 50/50s. Lahee, your development has been something special in the last 5 months alone! Keep working hard, the sky is the limit!
#49 Kiley O’Brien Gilligan – Middie
The player that will play any position rose up today and helped her team in the midfield. Ki played gritty, tough, never made an excuse and played hard for her team. Her efforts and performance did not go unnoticed as her team gave her a Game Pumpkin! Congratulations Ki!
#78 Maddy Smith – Defender
This kid can PLAY! Smith is an amazing 1on1 defender who can also cover the slide angles on the break with such precision. She is tough and never, ever plays scared. Today Smith was a rock star and anchored the defense as witnessed by her teammates giving her a Game Pumpkin!!! Go you Smith!
All Tournament Pumpkin
#67 Alicia Turner – Goalie
Since joining us just last summer, Turner has dramatically improved her game! Turner played lights out in net today making the majority of the saves that she should and some amazing point-blank stops! The consistency enabled her team to flow and her play awarded her the All-Tournament Pumpkin as a goalie in the first tournament of the fall season! Way to go Turner!

Team Summary
Record: 0-2-1
29Blue got substantially better today! At the start of the day, we reviewed the objective- “Stay in the Fight.” We reviewed what they know, we don’t seed our teams in lower brackets so they win, rather we seed them in competitive brackets to present our players with the opportunities to stand strong and not shrink. We discussed that the majority of the teams they would see today would have stronger sticks (meaning smoothness and stick abilities) and that is ok for in a year’s time, after commitment to the REVlax Wall Ball program, they would have smooth sticks. We shared our philosophy again, that only in consistent challenges do you develop the ability to Stay in the Fight for that is a personal decision that you need to keep making in every moment of the game. And for those freshmen who have this ability to Stay in the Fight, they stand out as freshman in varsity tryouts.
In their first game, REV 29Blue played a formable opponent and hands down the best team they have seen yet, but nonetheless, they came out firing. 29Blue won the first draw and scored first! The game was neck and neck for the first 15min. After a few turnovers, the opposing team got a jump on the score. In reviewing the metrics below, 29Blue was tied for the draw in the 1st half and then it slipped in the 2nd, allowing the scoreto slip away.
However, check the next two games out! 29Blue played awesome in the 2nd game and had the W right up until the last few seconds when breakdowns allowed the other team to score. Check how the team decreased shots allowed and increased shots taken in each of the 2nd halves. These two metrics are instrumental in success. You will also note the Turnovers (TO’s) are too high. This will be lowered as players become used to the fast run and gun pace of play and become comfortable in swinging the ball on offense and of course, as the entire team works to Wall Ball #7!
Shout Outs/Beads
At Ghost Games, the team switched from pumpkin winners to getting “Beaded!” These players sported the beads proudly!
#11 Lahee Lee - Middie
First game, first draw, first shot, first goal! Lahee came out firing! It was literally the fastest we have seen you go yet Lahee! All game you were in it to fight! Congratulations on being the force in the midfield!
#67 Alicia Turner – Goalie
Turner is literally collecting these awards as she received the All-Tournament award at the CHILL and today gets beaded for outstanding play in net garnering a 50% save percentage!
#18 Lily Magit – Defense
This is a day when the newbies stepped up and shined. This kid is the real deal. A fast and quick defender. We are so excited for you Lily and what is going to come. Keep up the awesome effort!
All - Tournament Bead
#61 Nina French – Middie
Talk about another player just joining the club, coming into the system, understanding the system and reaching her next potential in the midfield! After a conversation regarding running full speed and really pushing her output level past her comfort zone enabling her to reach faster speeds, Nina found a new gear! With each game today, Nina pushed harder and faster and today we saw the future! Congratulations Nina, we are so excited to have you with us! Keep working hard and pushing to find your full speed!
